Interim storage of waste

The vitrified and compacted waste standard containers (CSD-V and CSD-C) are put into interim storage on their production site awaiting geological disposal.
Although they only account for 3 % of the volume of all waste generated by French nuclear activities, they account for 99 % of the radioactivity.
